FRJ Open Day 2016 -Join Us!
June 20 marks international World Refugee Day.
More than 60 million people around the world have been forced from home. Over half of whom have not crossed a border to find safety.More than a million migrants and refugees crossed into Europe in 2015 and some of whom fled to Japan. The number of asylum seeker in Japan has been increasing.
Forum for Refugees in Japan (FRJ)is a network of NGOs and agencies supporting refugees and asylum seekers who have fled to Japan. On June 22, FRJ will organize “FRJ Open Day 2016” .The purpose of this event is to provide a platform in Japanese society to share refugee stories, various practices and ideas and raise awareness around refugee issues, especially situation in Japan. We would greatly appreciate if refugees and asylum seekers join us and share their story.
We hope this would be an opportunity to establish meaningful connections and relationships for refugees and asylum seekers and remind Japanese society what we can do.
